Convert HEIC to JPG
iPhone photos won't open on Windows and on many websites. ExifGone converts them to JPG โ right on your device, with no upload. Location, device and capture time are removed automatically.
- ๐ No upload, right in your browser
- ๐ Location removed automatically
- ๐ธ Free, no sign-up
How it works
-
1
Drop in HEIC photos
The photos are only opened in your browser โ never sent to a server.
-
2
Converted automatically
Each photo becomes a high-quality JPG. Orientation and colours are preserved.
-
3
Download your JPGs
One by one or all together as a ZIP. Without location, device or capture time.
Why ExifGone instead of another converter?
Many HEIC converters upload your photos to their server โ and usually copy the GPS location into the JPG as well. Send or post the converted photo and you may still be giving away your home address.
ExifGone does both differently: the conversion happens entirely in your browser, and only the pixels go into the JPG โ no metadata. The iPhone's colour profile (Display P3) is carried over so colours stay as vivid as in the original.
Frequently asked questions
What is HEIC?
HEIC (or HEIF) is the image format iPhones have used for photos since iOS 11. It needs about half the storage of JPG at the same quality, but Windows, many apps and websites don't support it, or only with extra software.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The first time you convert, the page downloads the converter (about 0.5 MB) once from exifgone.com โ your photos are not transmitted.
Will my photo lose quality?
JPG is always a compressed format, so a conversion is never completely lossless. ExifGone uses a high quality setting (92%) where differences are barely visible. The JPG is usually larger than the HEIC.
Is the location copied into the JPG?
No. Location, device, capture time and all other metadata are left out. If you'd rather keep your HEIC and only remove the metadata, you can do that losslessly on the home page.
Can I switch my iPhone to JPG?
Yes: Settings โ Camera โ Formats โ Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG but take up more storage. The location is still saved if the camera has access to it.
How many photos can I convert?
Free for up to 10 photos at once, no sign-up. Then just clear the list and carry on.
